Safeguarding Policy

At Sussex Equine Assisted Learning (SEAL), the safety and well-being of every child is at the heart of everything we do.

We are fully committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where children — particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) — feel protected, valued, and respected at all times. All staff and volunteers follow strict safeguarding procedures in line with local authority and government guidelines.

We ensure that:

  • All sessions are supervised by trained and experienced staff.
  • Enhanced DBS checks are carried out on all adults working with children.
  • We maintain clear policies around behaviour, boundaries, and appropriate conduct.
  • Any concerns are taken seriously and responded to promptly, following proper reporting protocols.
  • Our facilities are regularly risk-assessed to maintain a safe environment for both children and animals.

We work closely with parents, carers, and professionals to support each child’s needs, and welcome open communication around their safety and wellbeing.
